With just the Japanese Grand Prix left to go, teams not restricted to running on Friday mornings of the race weekends are cramming in a few final days of testing, before turning their attention full-time to the 2004 season.
Toyota had a rainy day in Jerez yesterday (30th September) and are due to be joined today by Marc Gene and Ralf Schumacher for Williams. McLaren ran Alexander Wurz and Darren Turner at Silverstone, while Ferrari had Luca Badoer and Felipe Massa pounding round Mugello.
Testing at the Italian circuit was interrupted when Takuma Sato had a big accident in the BAR. The Japanese driver was taken to hospital for precautionary X-rays, but returned to the track later in the afternoon.
