A busy weekend on and off the track

Jordan will enjoy the tradition of a busy home race with a campus of Grand Prix goings-on for fans hosted in the grounds of its headquarters opposite Silverstone’s main entrance.  The "Jordan Village", organised by the team’s licensing and merchandise company, Jordan Brand Ltd, will include: the sale of Jordan merchandise, original Formula One car parts, 2002 team clothing, official memorabilia and special edition autographed items, as well as opportunities to sample the two Jordan drinks, V-10 and EJ-10, autograph signing with the drivers and Eddie Jordan, a Club Jordan meeting point and the Virgin Mobile roadshow.

Jordan Grand Prix gives every member of staff a ticket for the race, and for many of the 150 staff who do not usually travel to races it is their only opportunity to see their cars in action.  In addition, Jordan’s Sports and Social Club has organised an event for staff and their families on race day, with a marquee on the front lawn of the factory, with large TV screens, an F1 simulator, a bouncy castle and children’s play area and a raffle, with prizes donated by the team’s sponsors.

Meanwhile, Eddie Jordan and his band V10 will support chart-toppers The Stereophonics at a special concert on Friday 5 July, in aid of CLIC (Cancer and Leukaemia in Childhood, the charity of which Eddie Jordan is patron) in Stowe Park, next to Silverstone circuit.  Tickets to the concert, which takes place alongside the Cantor Fitzgerald Silverstone Ball 2002, are available to the public, providing a unique opportunity for fans of music and motor racing to savour the atmosphere of the traditional pre-race party, now in its fifth year.  V10’s most recent gig was at Stars and Bars in Monte Carlo during the Monaco Grand Prix, and the event raised over €138,000 for CLIC.
