Takuma Sato won the Paul Warwick Trophy for National Racing Driver at last night's AUTOSPORT Awards ceremony at Grosvenor House, London. The magazine's readers voted for Takuma following his outstanding season with the Carlin Motorsport team in British Formula Three and his recent promotion to Formula One, making him Japan's most promising motorsport talent for a number of years.
"Obviously, I'd like to thank British motorsport, it really made it happen for me" said Sato. "Carlin Motorsport are a really good team and I'm so happy with this."
Takuma is now looking ahead confidently to his Formula One debut.
"I'm really excited about this. This year is really important for young drivers and I'm just so happy to be one of them."
