Jordan Honda EJ12 joins the Costain Skanska celebration
Silverstone road completed

A Jordan Honda EJ12 took centre stage this morning when construction workers from Costain Skanska celebrated completion of the new road section which will be used to ease congestion at Silverstone this weekend.  Costain Skanska is a joint venture contractor responsible for the £56 Million project to dual 18kms of the A43 in three different sections.

The Costain Skanska celebration came hours before the formal opening of the road ahead of this weekend's British Grand Prix, although the opening will be temporary.  Further work is required to complete all the links in the A43 dualling, and will be permanently opened in September.

DHL Jordan Honda not only provided a car for this morning's photocall, but also for the opening of the Dadford Road dual carriageway several weeks ago, when reigning Formula 3000 Champion Justin Wilson drove one of last year's EJ11 cars along the new section in front of the Silverstone Main Entrance.

Speaking at this morning's event, Costain Skanska's Project Manager Alan Kay said : "Everyone has put in a tremendous effort to get the section ready for the Grand Prix.  It is a vital part of the event's overall success so we simply could not fail."

Joining him were Lee Davies, Paul Brooks, Dan Powrie and Craig Brown.

The new road system around Silverstone means that Jordan's headquarters now has a large new entrance road, reached via one of the roundabouts situated on the Dadford Road.  The new access to Jordan will be used by many fans this weekend as they visit the Jordan Village where the team will be selling merchandise, memorabilia and Jordan Brand products such as the EJ10 and V10 drinks, while both the team drivers and Eddie Jordan will also be present for autograph signings.
