The factory is quieter than it would usually be the week after a Grand Prix, as many members of the race team have not returned to the UK between the Australian and Malaysian races.
Jordan’s mechanics and engineers worked hard and long in Melbourne, leaving the circuit around 0130hrs most nights and on Saturday night they worked until nearly 0400hrs on Sunday morning repairing Takuma’s EJ12, damaged badly in his pre-qualifying shunt. It was an early start on Sunday, preparing for the race, and many of the team had less than two hours sleep!
Whilst some of the crew returned home to see their families and continue work at Jordan’s Silverstone HQ, today (Tuesday 5 March) 27 team members including mechanics, engineers and IT staff, begin a well-earned five-day break in Phuket, Thailand, before they head to Sepang to begin preparations for the Malaysian Grand Prix on 15 - 17 March.
