TV commentators are used to being criticised by their viewers, but the Finnish TV boys in Melbourne were a bit surprised to be picked up on some points they had apparently missed during qualifying. The irate caller made several valid comments and obviously knew his stuff. His name? Mika Hakkinen.

Former grand prix star and the first man to ever drive a Jordan Formula 1 car, John Watson, has landed the job of commentator for the new BskyB digital F1 service. Apparently "Wattie" was delighted to get the call and said he would pop straight down to Melbourne to take up his post. However, the digital commentary has to be done from the UK and BskyB couldn't understand the Ulsterman's reluctance to come to the studio... until they discovered he was holidaying on Australia's Gold Coast at the time. He returned to the UK for the programme!
