Until recently, Formula 1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone has kept his views to himself, as rows raged about whether or not the sport needed legislating to reduce costs. Eddie Jordan has been outspoken in championing the cause of the smaller teams who feel that something has to be done to curb the expense of grand prix racing. Now, the Mr. Ecclestone seems to have come out in agreement with our leader.
Speaking to "The Sunday Times" last weekend, Ecclestone said: "We are taking a good look at the sport. In the end, what we will try to do is cut back a bit on technology and the need to spend money. There are a few things that you could do to a car that would save money. Each vehicle might go a second slower, but nobody would really notice. If all the teams agree to act in the same way it won't make a competitive difference but it will mean a huge reduction on spending."
