Giancarlo Fisichella's outstanding talent was recognised last week when he was named Best Italian Driver by the Automobile Club of Italy on Friday, beating last year's Jordan driver Jarno Trulli to the honour.

The award was presented at a ceremony which was attended by VIPs including the president of the Automobile Club of Italy, Franco Lucchesi, and chief executive of Fiat, Paolo Cantarella.

This week Giancarlo Fisichella is in Barcelona with Jordan Honda, testing the EJ12 in preparation for the start of the 2002 season.
