Racing and music fans will have the chance to groove with their idols at the 2002 Grand Prix Party which happens at the Royal Albert Hall in London on Tuesday 12 February.
It’s all in aid of Professor Sid Watkins’s charity, The Brain and Spine Foundation and some famous faces (and voices) from Formula One will be taking part, including Damon Hill, Sir Stirling Moss, Niki Lauda, Jody Scheckter, Murray Walker, Martin Brundle and James Allen.
The UK’s brainiest TV beauty, Carol Vordeman, will host the evening and Jools Holland will orchestrate the multitude of live music performances including Atomic Kittens Natasha, Jenny and Liz, and Simply Red star Mick Hucknall. A few F1 names will dabble in playing tunes to the fans - including Johnny Herbert and Alex Yoong – and Eddie Jordan is rumoured to be making an appearance, playing the drums.
For the second year running, ‘Bernie Awards’ will be presented for Best Newcomer, Driver of the Year, Lifetime Achievement and Outstanding Contribution to F1.
