Firman adds miles to EJ13

Jordan Ford continued its test session in Valencia today with Ralph Firman completing 48 laps of track mileage.

The programme focussed on driver familiarisation with the EJ13 and set-up work, aerodynamic and mechanical chassis balance work and control system tuning. The day was relatively productive although some track time was lost to some minor problems, including an engine oil leak and a hydraulic leak, which the team is working to resolve. A scheduled engine change took place at lunch time.

Gary Anderson, "It was quite a ‘stop-start’ day because of the small problems so it was slightly more challenging for Ralph today, but he is finding his feet and doing a very competent job. Drivers have to adapt to grooved tyres when they have been used to slicks, and it’s encouraging that Ralph hasn’t put a wheel wrong in two days."

Giancarlo Fisichella will take over testing duties for the next two days. Ralph Firman will resume testing on 17 February when both Jordan Ford drivers will be present for a four day test in Barcelona.
