McLaren goes Thunderbirds

The return to Europe is always worth looking forward to as the teams can once again work in the civilised surroundings of their motorhomes, after the makeshift offices at the flyaways. "Motorhome" has been something of a misnomer for several years now, given the lavish purpose built units used by the teams as offices, restaurants and hospitality areas.

In the Imola paddock it is now apparent that this trend has now been taken to a whole new level courtesy of McLaren. What we have here is apparently a "Communications Centre" and very impressive it is too.

Taking up the space usually occupied by all three of its old vehicles, it is more of a building than a vehicle, with separate areas for the drivers, engineers, PR, marketing  and catering staff. Describe it? A cross between a 1980 disco and the Thunderbirds control centre!
