Although the Williams team has made no comment on the story, 'The Guardian' newspaper has claimed that the team has signed up current driver Juan Pablo Montoya on a new contract to the end of 2004. Given the Colombian’s pace this year, with five pole positions to his name, including taking the number one spot at the last four grands prix, this would seem to be something of a no-brainer. Montoya’s  team-mate, Ralf Schumacher has a current contract which also runs to the end of 2004.
