According to Motorsport News, Williams team mechanics made an explosive mistake when they left a FW24 nose at Marseille airport. Technical Director Patrick Head confirmed that the nose was destroyed by French police. "The airport security found this aluminium box, decided they wouldn't touch it, so they strapped some dynamite around the outside and blew it to smithereens.  Needless to say we were told not to bother with an insurance claim..."
