Jean Alesi is not the only man leaving the Benson and Hedges Jordan Honda team after the Japanese Grand Prix. This morning, Jim Vale gets ready for his last race as Team Manager. The fifty year old Aussie from Melbourne is retiring from the sport and heading off home after eleven years with the team. Jim joined Jordan back in 1991, working as a mechanic and was appointed team manager in 1996, since when he has overseen logistics for the race and test crews. His farewell photo call in the Suzuka pit lane saw him joined by Eddie Jordan, Jean Alesi and Jarno Trulli. Why were they all eating ice cream? Because if Jim has one weakness, it's a passion for the stuff. The Jordan catering crew will now be able to cut back on the huge stocks of them they have had to carry for the lolly licking Aussie.
