It’s all speculative at the moment, but rumours are doing the rounds that Arrows boss Tom Walkinshaw has reached an agreement with investment bank Morgan Grenfell, which would allow him to sell the team to Red Bull.

The energy drink company has various sponsorship deals in place in F1, but would like to go the whole hog and be title sponsor. The idea behind the plan is that Arrows would be called Red Bull Team USA, as the American market is high on Red Bull’s list of priorities. At the moment, Arrows have to front up with another payment to engine supplier Cosworth by this Wednesday, if they are to have engines to run in the weekend’s French GP.
