Jordan's Director of Race and Test Engineering Gary Anderson will join the World Rally Championship trail this weekend when he helps out ITV's Formula One pundit Tony Jardine on the Rally GB in Wales. Jardine is driving a MG ZR with Formula One journalist Maurice Hamilton co-driving. Hamilton is well known to Jordan fans as the author of two superb books about Jordan and is a regular contributor to J Magazine.
Anderson has worked with Jardine's support crew before and is looking forward to a weekend in the mud down in Wales. Several other Jordan personnel are planning to visit the event and will no doubt be supporting new partners Ford whose works Ford Focus WRC02 cars are being driven by Britain's Colin McRae, Spain's Carlos Sainz and Estonia's Markko Martin.
After 6 stages the rally was being led by World Champion Marcus Gronholm's Peugeot 206 WRC with Petter Solberg's Subaru Imprezza second in front of the Ford Focus's of Martin and Sainz. McRae was down in 7th position behind Harry Rovanpera's Peugeot and Tommy Makinen's Subaru while arch rival Richard Burns was behind the Scot in 8th place.
