Frentzen to drive in Indy?

The Sauber team announced today that Heinz-Harald Frentzen will test for the team this coming Thursday at Silverstone. The German has been released from his Arrows drive and already has a contract with the Swiss team for next year.

However, he could now be a possible replacement for Felipe Massa in the forthcoming United States GP if the test goes well.

"The decision of the Stewards of the Meeting in Monza to relegate Felipe by ten grid positions at the Indy race forced us to think about alternatives,” said Peter Sauber. “This verdict would be a major setback in our quest to defend our position in the Constructors' Championship.

"Only the test in Silverstone will finally show, whether Heinz-Harald will be able to drive competitively in this seating position. All further decisions will depend on the outcome of the test drive."
