Michael Schumacher set the fastest time in Friday qualifying in Mayalsia, and with team mate Rubens Barrichello second it seems that Formula One is set for another dominant performance by Ferrari. Juan Pablo Montoya took third in his Williams with Kimi Raikkonen a promising fourth in front of team mate David Coulthard, the Scot having headed the times in free practice.
There was another disappointing Friday performance from Ralf Schumacher, back in 13th position, while once again the Renaults and Saubers showed well, Jarno Trulli and Fernando Alonso sandwiching Nick Heidfeld, Heinz-Harald Frentzen and the lead BAR of Jensen Button in 9th. Jacques Villeneuve was 15th. There was trouble for Antonio Pizzonia, unable to complete a lap within the allotted time in his Jaguar due to technical problems, so he will therefore be first out in tomorrow's qualifying.
