Q) What do you hope to achieve this season?
GF) Above all I want to do well and try and win my first race in F1 and get as many good results as possible. It won't be easy, because as usual there are a lot of very competitive teams. The car is reasonably good. We had some early problems with reliability and with the power of the engine but have made good steps in testing.
Q) Do you think Ferrari, McLaren and Williams will still be the top three teams?
GF) Yes, I think they will be fighting for the wins and poles. But I think I will be hoping to mix it with them on some occasions.
Q) 97 with Jordan was your best year in F1. Now you are back with the team. How do you think the future will go?
GF) Yes, I'm back and this is a great stimulus for me, because as you say, I had my best year with this team. I like the car and as usual the team is very friendly and there are a lot of mechanics I remember from first time round. So I quickly felt comfortable here. Then there is the Honda engine. As I said it needs more development, but no one can question Honda's ability given their past record. I am sure they will reach a top level.
Q) Jordan is bound to be compared with BAR, using the same engine. How do you think the two teams will compare?
GF) I hope we will be quicker than them and that seemed to be the case in testing. Honda will certainly do its best for both of us.
Q)You are a known factor but Sato is a new driver. What do you think of your new team-mate?
GF) He is very nice, very intelligent. He only needed a few days of testing to get the hang of how one has to work in F1. On the track he is very quick and I think he will have a good season.
What did you think of the launch?
GF) Up until a few days ago, I thought we were having a very simple presentation, given we are one of the last teams to launch. But now with the new sponsors coming on board, we have been able to do this spectacular presentation. More importantly, the new sponsorship is good for the team's budget.
