Despite a technical problem during this mornings test session in Indianapolis the Jordan Ford team performed relatively well out on the track and with three drivers running they gained some valuable data to help with the preparations for the race on Sunday. Swedish born F3000 champion Bjorn Wirdheim accompanied Giancarlo Fisichella and Ralph Firman on the track and between them they managed to clock up 107 laps of the 4.1km track.
It was a good session particularly for Firman who has been in recovery from his high-speed crash during a practice session in Hungary. Firman is reported to be feeling a lot better and is looking forward to getting back out on the track over the weekend.
Fisichella had a slight technical problem when a blockage in the gearbox oil tank caused his oil cooler to split however he is hoping to make up any lost ground during the following practice session.
Bjorn Wirdheim commented:"After testing with Jordan Ford in Monza earlier this month it was good to be back in the car. I really like the circuit here at Indianapolis. We were doing some work preparing for the race and it was nice to work with Gary Anderson. It was not too bad and I hope I helped the team be better prepared for the weekend."
