Jordan tackles reliability issues

The cause of the recent hydraulic problems which have dogged Giancarlo Fisichella's Jordan Honda EJ12 have been traced to a specific issue with a hydraulic manifold.  In fact the problem had already been identified after qualifying in San Marino when Fisi suffered a loss of hydraulic pressure, and a redesign was immediately begun.  Manufacturing lead times, however, meant the new component was not ready in time for last weekend's Spanish Grand Prix.

The reoccurrence of the failure in Barcelona has confirmed that Jordan's technical team had been 100 % accurate in their analysis of the problem.  The team is pushing hard to have production of the new part completed in time for the Austrian Grand Prix on May 12th, and an interim solution will be used until such time as the new part is installed.
