Coulthard sets practice pace

David Coulthard emerged fastest in this morning practice sessions in Monte Carlo, his McLaren confortably quicker than Juan Pablo Montoya's Williams with the two Schumacher brothers 3rd and 4th.  For Jordan Ford the session brought mixed fortunes for Giancarlo Fisichella and Ralph Firman, the former ending the session in 9th position and the latter frustrated in his efforts to set a time at the end when a minor electrical problem cut short his track time.

The two Jordans were separated by just over half a second until Fisichella put in a quick lap towards the end of the session, the Italian hopeful of qualifying in the top ten this afternoon.  Firman then when out to set a time only for the car to go into neutral while going through the tunnel.  This was traced to an electrical fault but it could not be rectified in time for the 28 year old to rejoin the track before the end of the 45 minute period.

Jarno Trulli was a good fifth for Renault, team mate Fernando Alonso back in 14th, while Kimi Raikkonen was fastest during the earlier stages of the session before slipping back to 6th.  Barrichello and Webber were 7th and 8th, in front of Fisichella, while Jacques Villeneuve completed the top ten, one place in front of his team mate Jensen Button who suffered a high speed accident and has been hospitalised for checks.
