Facelift Scheduled For 2002 European GP The Nurburgring is scheduled for a facelift in time for the 2002 European GP.
The facelift will include the replacement of the Castrol Esses with a purpose built stadium section to be named the Mercedes Stadium at a cost of £4 million, including additional seating.
The work is scheduled to start at the end of the 2001 season and a spokesperson for the circuit said that at this stage they are not concerned with a new contract and will honour their existing contract, which expires at the end of the 2004 season.
