Sunday Warmup - Brazilian Grand Prix 2001 Season An uneventful warm-up for Benson & Hedges Jordan Honda as Jarno Trulli and Heinz-Harald Frentzen had trouble-free runs on their way to fifth and tenth fastest times respectively.
'Everything went according to plan,' said Frentzen. 'We were running our race set-up as usual and trying various things. There were no problems but we know this is going to be a tough race.'
The 30-minute session was run in sunny and hot conditions - ambient temperature 26 deg C, track temperature 24 deg C - with the forecast of more to follow during the 71-lap race.
'It was perfectly routine,' said Trevor Foster, Managing Director of Jordan Grand Prix. 'Apart from checking that everything was okay with all three cars, we were running various downforce and fuel levels in order to gather information for the race. Jarno tried the spare car and both drivers said they were happy. Now we have some thinking to do regarding the best strategy for the race. With the lap times being so close, it's going to be a tough one and the right tactics will make all the difference.'
Michael Schumacher was consistently the fastest with his Ferrari team-mate, Rubens Barrichello, showing improved form after a disappointing qualifying yesterday.
Barrichello was second fastest this morning, neither driver reporting any problems. It was the same story for McLaren and Williams, with Mika Hakkinen setting third fastest time and David Coulthard sixth, Ralf Schumacher fourth and eighth quickest time for Juan-Pablo Montoya.
