Saturday Practice - Spanish Grand Prix 2001 Season Jarno Trulli and Heinz-Harald Frentzen were sixth and eleventh quickest at the end of final practice before this afternoon's qualifying.
Neither driver had any problems during the two 45-minute sessions run in sunny, warm conditions.
'It was generally a good session without any problems,' said Frentzen. 'The car's handling seemed okay, except for a little bit of understeer which I was suffering from this morning. But I think, with the little bit of fine-tuning, we can cure that for qualifying. We certainly seem to have got over the problems we had yesterday!'
The blustery conditions which dominated yesterday's practice gave way to more gentle breeze this morning. Even so, Trulli was still feeling the effects of the occasional gust on the handling of his car.
'Jarno was quite happy with the balance of his car in the end,' said Trevor Foster, Managing Director, Benson and Hedges Jordan Honda. 'It was just a matter of adjusting it to the track conditions today. We were running lower fuel levels in preparation for qualifying. There were no problems and Heinz stopped early because he didn't want to use a second set of tyres. The times show it's going to be pretty close during qualifying.'
The Ferraris of Schumacher and Barrichello were quickest, followed by Coulthard's McLaren, the Scotsman being fortunate to narrowly miss hitting the tyre barrier after running wide at one point. Trulli had been fourth fastest until a last minute burst of speed from the Sauber drivers as Raikkonen led Heidfeld into the top six. The only major mechanical incident occurred to De le Rosa when his Jaguar suddenly turned sharp right and hit the wall as he accelerated out of the pits.
