Sunday Warmup - Monaco Grand Prix 2001 Season An uneventful warm-up this morning as the Benson and Hedges Jordan Honda drivers completed 14 laps each during the 30-minute session, Heinz-Harald Frentzen recording the fifth fastest time, Jarno Trulli being 11th quickest.
'A routine warm-up with no big dramas,' said Trevor Foster, Managing Director, Jordan Grand Prix. 'We ran high loads of fuel because it's always a one-stop race here. We scrubbed tyres because I don't know if there is any benefit to be had from running brand new tyres. It's going to be a very hot race and a very hard race because they're talking about 29 degrees C ambient. Mechanically, that is going to be hard on the cars; physically, it will be just as hard on the drivers.'
David Coulthard, who starts from pole position, was fastest this morning, fractionally ahead of team-mate Mika Hakkinen, neither McLaren driver having any problems. The Ferraris of Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello were third and fourth quickest. There were no serious incidents.
The seventh round of the championship will run for 78 laps, starting at 2pm (local).
