Saturday Morning Practice - Canadian Grand Prix 2000 Season Jordan Grand Prix ready for qualifying after Trulli and Frentzen set fifth and eighth fastest times during uneventful morning practice. McLarens and Ferraris fastest.
Jarno Trulli and Heinz-Harald Frentzen fifth and eighth quickest for Jordan Grand Prix during Saturday morning practice in Montreal. David Coulthard fastest for McLaren as preparations for qualifying are complete.
Both Jordan drivers declared themselves happy with final preparations for this afternoon's qualifying session for the Canadian Grand Prix. Jarno Trulli was inside the top six again and Heinz-Harald Frentzen was reasonably happy with eighth place.
'We concentrated solely on the qualifying set-up this morning,' said Mike Gascoyne, Technical Director at Jordan. 'We didn't have any technical problems and both drivers were reasonably happy. Now it is a case of deciding our tyre strategy for qualifying and the race.'
David Coulthard was fastest again despite experiencing problems early in the first of the two morning sessions. An engine change meant the McLaren driver was able to return and set a faster time than the Ferraris of Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello. Mika Hakkinen was confident he could have improved on fourth fastest time after having to back off because of yellow warning flags during his fastest lap.
Morning practice was run in cloudy and cool conditions but the temperatures have been rising steadily as the sky clears.
