Sunday Warmup - Canadian Grand Prix 2000 Season here were no problems for Jordan Grand Prix during the race warm-up in Montreal. Jarno Trulli and Heinz-Harald Frentzen set fifth and 12th fastest times.
'The cars are competitive, the brakes are in good shape and we're looking good for the race,' said Mike Gascoyne, Technical Director, Jordan Grand Prix. The Ferraris of Schumacher and Barrichello were fastest.
Both drivers complete trouble-free warm-up for Jordan Grand Prix in Canada. Jarno Trulli, much happier with his car, sets fifth fastest time: Heinz-Harald Frentzen 12th fastest after successful run to check out brakes. Michael Schumacher fastest for Ferrari.
Both Jordan drivers completed 18 problem-free laps during the race morning warm-up in Montreal. Run in dry, cool conditions, the 30-minute session gave teams a final chance to check out brakes, a problem area on a 2.7-mile
track with five slow-speed chicanes.
'We spent most of the session looking at the brakes with a full load of fuel on board,' said Mike Gascoyne, Technical Director at Jordan Grand Prix. 'Both drivers said the brakes felt very good and the cars were handling well. There were no problems and we were setting competitive times, so I'd say we're in good shape for the race.'
Trulli, fifth fastest, was much happier with his car and produced consistently quick times. 'The brakes in particular are very good and the car feels much better this morning,' said Trulli.
There were no problems for the leading teams as the Ferraris of Schumacher and Barrichello were faster than the McLarens, led by Hakkinen who felt he was in better shape than during qualifying when, it was later discovered,
he had been running with a seized rear shock absorber bearing.
