Friday Practice - Belgium Grand Prix 2000 Season Jordan Grand Prix drivers Jarno Trulli and Heinz-Harald Frentzen were reasonably happy with 10th and 17th fastest times respectively during the first day of practice for the Belgian Grand Prix.
'I had no problems,' said Trulli. 'The car was competitive straightaway this morning and the times were quick. So, we worked on improving the balance even further while running with a race fuel load. Our running was limited eventually by the tyres losing their edge and we did not want to run a second set at this stage. Generally, a positive day for us. I'm pretty happy.'
Frentzen's problems began in the morning when an electronics sensor gave trouble and had to be changed. Later, the differential also needed replacing.
'The mechanics did a very good job because I didn't lose a lot of time due to the various problems,' said Frentzen. 'From the running I was able to do, the balance of the car seemed okay and we are analysing the data to see where we can improve for tomorrow's practice and qualifying.'
Neither McLaren nor Ferrari had any major problems, apart from a slow puncture on Coulthard's car. Johnny Herbert was very happy with third fastest time although, unlike most teams, the Jaguar driver was running with a light load of fuel.
