Jordan F1

Jordan F1 made it into the top 4 in 1998, breaking the hold that McLaren, Ferrari, Benetton and Williams had held since 1989. The next year the team did even better, beating 2 former world champions, Benetton and Williams, leaving only the mighty McLaren and Ferrari unchallenged.

The Jordan F1 team started life in 1991. Founded by the flamboyant Irishman Eddie Jordan, Jordan F1 has brought a sense of fun to Formula One. With only 10 years in the business Jordan F1 had already achieved great results - winning 3 races, getting on the front row 6 times and on the podium 11 times - and that's just in the last 4 years.

In 2000, only Jordan F1 made it to the front row to join Ferrari and McLaren, but reliability problems and a lot of ill luck saw it move back to 6th in the Championship. The next year Jordan F1 made a big step forward with a partnership with the Honda Motor Company, and rose a place to 5th in the World Championship.

This year Jordan F1 has a new driver pairing. Giancarlo Fisichella returns - he made his Formula One debut with Jordan F1 in 1997 - and Takuma Sato, the record-breaking British F3 Champion, races alongside him.
