Jordan Racing

Jordan Racing

Jordan Grand Prix, called Jordan Racing by some people, evolved from Eddie Jordan Racing in 1991 and has brought colour and a sense of humour to Formula One motor racing. In only a decade in the business, the team has produced impressive results - three race wins, six front rows and eleven podiums in the last four years.

In 1998 the team broke the top four strangle-hold of McLaren, Ferrari, Williams and Benetton which had stood since 1989; in 1999 Jordan went one better - beating two former world champions, Williams and Benetton, to leave only the might of Ferrari and McLaren un-challenged.

In 2000, Jordan was the only team to join McLaren and Ferrari on the front row of the grid, but the team suffered reliability problems which, allied to much bad luck, saw it slip to sixth in the Championship.

In 2001, the team took a major step forward by partnering with the Honda Motor Company, and moved up to fifth in the World Championship. 2002 sees a new driver line-up, with the return of Giancarlo Fisichella, who made his F1 debut with Jordan in 1997, and the signing of Takuma Sato, the record-breaking British Formula Three Champion.

The team has a new energy and hunger for success and begins the season ready to work hard towards its ultimate goal of winning the World Championship.

Jordan encapsulates the spirit of Formula One; extreme hard work, excitement, adrenaline and fun. A dynamic business in a dynamic sport.
