Composite Trimmer / Fitter

The successful applicants should have a minimum of 2 years motor sport experience in the production of high quality carbon fibre components. The ability to understand engineering drawings is essential.

Head of Control Systems

You will be responsible for the co-ordination of the activities of the Control Systems group and will also have a hands-on role in the development and support of the chassis/gearbox control systems. Areas you will be responsible for include:

  • Identifying areas for control system development in consultation with members of the group and other engineering departments
  • Prioritisation/planning of the implementation of development projects to ensure targets are met and the group’s resources are used as efficiently as possible
  • Identification of tools, systems, procedures, etc to enhance reliability, performance and productivity
  • Ensuring that the necessary level of factory support is provided to the track support engineers at the circuit  


The successful candidate will have a good degree in a relevant engineering discipline and have a minimum of 5 years experience of developing control systems within F1. You will have proven project management abilities and have recent experience in the areas of real-time software development, modelling/simulation of electronic control systems, autocoding, and all of the other areas listed for the position below.

Control Systems Engineer

Involved in the design and development of the chassis and gearbox control systems, this position will include developing control strategies, modelling their operation, generating target code for the electronic control units and carrying out system testing. The successful candidate will have a good degree in a relevant engineering discipline and have a number of year’s experience in most if not all of the following areas:

  • Development of real-time embedded software using C
  • Use of Matlab Simulink/Stateflow tools and autocode generation
  • Visual basic programming
  • Modelling/simulation of electronic control systems with mechanical/hydraulic elements
  • Calibration/tuning of control strategies
  • Vehicle dynamics
  • Providing field support for electronic control systems

Junior CFD Engineer

This position will involve performing CFD analysis, from mesh creation through to post-processing, supporting the aerodynamicists on a range of projects within the Aerodynamics department.

Candidates should have a good understanding of the latest CFD methods, combined with experience of 3D CAD systems, mesh generation, post-processing and data analysis. Previous experience in applying CFD to complex configurations would be advantageous but not essential.

Wind Tunnel Model Design Engineers

Primary responsibility focuses on the design and detail of components for the wind tunnel models.

You will preferably have 2/3 years experience in mechanical and/or surfacing design but recent graduates in mechanical engineering will be considered. Experience of surfacing and mechanical design using Catia v5 will be an advantage.

The successful candidates will be self-motivated, enthusiastic and able to work to high standards set by the department. F1 or motor racing experience will be an advantage. Flexibility and readiness to work long hours when necessary is essential.
