Formula One success with Jordan

Formula One is the most televised annual sporting championship in the world, attracting over 53 billion cumulative viewings in 2001 and reaching out to audiences in 196 countries and territories. Inaugurated in 1950, the Formula One World Championship has always been popular, growing in stature during the 60's and 70's.

The 2002 Formula One World Championship consists of 17 races - 'Grands Prix' - and each event counts towards two separate titles - the World Championship for Constructors and the World Championship for Drivers.

Eleven teams are taking part in the current season. In Formula One, teams enter the same two drivers for the whole season, normally replacing them only in the event of injury.

Jordan Grand Prix has brought colour and a sense of humour to Formula One since it was founded in 1991 by flamboyant Irishman Eddie Jordan. 2002 sees a new driver line-up for Jordan, with the return of Giancarlo Fisichella, who made his Formula One debut with Jordan in 1997, and the signing of Takuma Sato, in his first season in Formula One.

Jordan has a new energy and hunger for success in Formula One and begins the season ready to work hard towards its ultimate goal - winning the Formula One World Championship.
